Gutenberg Press Response

Holy crap were those guys excited about that press. Admittedly it did make me want to build a printing press out of wood. It was interesting to learn all the work that went into making the press, the letters, and the paper. I never knew that without the paper, Gutenberg would have failed at making his machine popular, since velum was so hard to make.

traditionally vellum was made from sheep, not moo cows as reported in the video.

OK, i'm wrong. sheep OR calves=vellum!

Point is, they still would have had a one hell of a time making all that material.
