DSN305 | First Set of Directions

1. The Easy Do-It-Yourself Manual To Changing A Bike Tire v 1.2

2. Here are the parts of the bike. Notice how the bike is upside down. You will need to turn your bike upside down also, unless you like to make things difficult.

3. You will notice a silver lever in the middle of each wheel. This is the quick release. Turn it until it’s loose like that one girl in high school.

4. Locate the brakes and release the lever to open them. Just like in the pictures.

5. Pull derailleur back to release chain, you’ll notice it will go limp and pull wheel out. The wheel won’t come easily, so you’re have to wiggle it a bit, until it comes out.

6. Locate the valve. Unscrew anything that looks like it can be unscrewed. Push it to release ALL excess air. Make sure all the air is out, as this will make it easier on you.

7. Stick the tire levers in between the metal rim and rubber tire and pull it out. Work it around the whole wheel, until the whole things pops off like your step-dads toupee.

8. Remove the inner tube from the tire and replace or repair. Don’t ask us how to repair.

9. Place on side of rubber tire back onto the rim. Just one side, don’t get too excited.

10. Take the inner tube, locate the valve and stick it through the little hole in the rim. Screw the locknut back on to keep it in place. We don’t want that bad boy going anywhere.

11. Ease the inner tube gently into the tire, you don’t want to get rough with it. Make sure it’s all nice and snug in there.

12. Wiggle the second half of the tire back onto the rim, making sure you’re not pinching the inner tube.

13. Roll the tire back and forth, making sure everything is where it should be, or else it could blow up. No, seriously, it could blow up.

14. Put the pump onto the valve and pump it up to ____ psi. Don’t over do it, or else it will also explode.

15. Close the valve and make sure the locknut is all the way screwed on.

16. Pull the derailleur back again and waggle the wheel back into place. Make sure to close the brakes back up, or you’re not going to enjoy that next ride.

17. Hooray! You’ve successfully changed a bike tire. Give yourself a pat on the back and go take her out for a ride. Make sure to stay away from sewer drains!
